Trainer or Coach: Who's Guiding Your Fitness Journey?

Personal trainers have a crucial role: helping you achieve your desired results.

Whether it's building strength, gaining muscle, improving balance, or losing weight, they work on developing a program tailored to your goals.

However, sometimes things don't go as planned, leaving clients feeling frustrated with the outcomes.

Truth be told, this happens more often than you might expect.

It could be because the trainer lacks enough information to design the right program for you. Maybe the assessment wasn't thorough enough, or the right questions weren't asked. This can result in a program that doesn't fit your needs. Perhaps there's a better variation of an exercise or new research showing an improved approach.

Though, in all honesty, that might not be the main reason for past negative experiences with personal trainers. The real reason, unfortunately, may be that most trainers only pay attention to you during your gym sessions, not during the other 165 hours of the week.

This limited focus can lead to disappointment and missed opportunities.

Consider this: a trainer merely guides you through workouts, without necessarily understanding the nutrition and lifestyle habits outside the gym.

A coach, on the other hand, fosters a two-way relationship. They slowly introduce habit lessons to you, ensuring you can adopt changes effortlessly.

Furthermore, a coach holds you accountable, ensuring both parties are actively involved.

With a coach, the relationship doesn't end after the training session. Instead, it deepens with check-ins, lessons, exercises to be done at home, and more, creating a comprehensive and supportive experience.

You know, I bet there are amazing personal trainers who create flawless programs and guide their clients through workouts in an enjoyable way that brings results.

However, being a coach is a whole different ball game. It's way more fulfilling and often leads to clients having a better experience and achieving better results. That's exactly why I decided to become one, after all! :-)
